The condition of the façade, walkways, and fire escapes at this property had significantly deteriorated. To comprehensively address these issues, we embarked on a thorough renovation process. Here's a look at Stone & Stryder façad repair project at 610 Clipper St, in San Francisco.
Starting with the façade, we took various steps to restore its appearance and structural integrity. This involved replacing damaged materials, caulking around the windows to prevent moisture infiltration, repairing dry rot damage, and fixing any damaged stucco. Additionally, we applied an elastomeric coating, which not only enhanced the façade's aesthetics but also provided added protection against potential future damage.
Turning our attention to the fire escape located at the rear of the building, we observed considerable deterioration caused by rust. To resolve this, we replaced all the damaged steel components and diligently applied a fresh coat of paint. This measure not only addressed the existing rust issues but also served as a preventive measure to guard against further corrosion.
Next, the walkways presented challenges with pooling water and water absorption. To overcome this problem, we first attended to any dry rot damage and then applied a new top coating with a slope away from the building. This innovative coating facilitated proper drainage, effectively preventing water accumulation and safeguarding the walkways from potential damage in the future.
Here's a look at how the building used to look.
